My Review: Benefit Roller Lash Mascara

roller lash mascara

Remember that episode of Sex and the City where Carrie gets in trouble for smoking and screams, “I HAVE AN ADDICTION, SIR!” ?? Well, that’s basically me at the register every time I buy a new mascara. I hate to admit it, but I buy new mascara when I get bored of an old one, even when I haven’t finished the tube! I buy new mascara just because the brush is a crazy shape and its called something funky like “Spider Venom Lash” (fictional mascara name). I’ll admit, I bought Roller Lash by Benefit because of the pretty packaging.  Come on, its Benefit. The packaging is like a siren calling you, “you neeeeeeed meeeeeee, I’m prettyyyy…”

I can honestly say that Roller Lash by Benefit is one of the few mascaras that I have EVER completely finished and purchased multiple replacements for. This is quite possibly my favorite mascara ever. It curls and lengthens, while staying defined. My lashes stay separated and do not clump. It also does not flake throughout the day, which is a mega bonus.

Another plus is that you can apply it in the day and go over it later at night and it still doesn’t look clumpy.

My Review: Too Faced Stardust Palette

stardust paletteTo quote Buddy the Elf, “I’m in love, I’m in love and I don’t care who knows it.”

I’m a sucker for an eyeshadow palette. I’ve created my own 24 color palettes at MAC (more times than I’m willing to admit), and have purchased them from Urban Decay (Naked2), Smashbox (Full Exposure), and Lorac (Unzipped and MegaPro Palette 2, Duchess, Queen, Countess, Princess)-just to name a few.

So, basically what I’m saying is–you can trust me on eyeshadow palettes. I LOVE the Stardust palette by Vegas Nay for Too Faced. Naomi Giannopoulos, better known as @vegas_nay of Instagram fame has teamed up with Too Faced to create her own eye kit. #vegasnayfortoofaced

And I could not be more thrilled. Originally available at Ulta for $45, this set has become hard to come by once it starting flying of the shelves! 12 colors from shimmery to matte to metallic to glitter make for the perfect day to evening looks. Each color has a Las Vegas themed name (home of @vegas_nay). That would have already sold me (I was already like “OMG 12 colors, I need that.”), but WAIT-THERE’S MORE! The set comes with six eyeshadow look cards that teach you how to recreate each style. It also comes with a mini Too Faced Shadow Insurance eyeshadow primer, a mini Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara, and a mini Too Faced Glamour Dust in “Nude Beam.”

While the more glittery colors can move around (i.e. get glitter on your face) without the primer or some Too Faced Glitter Glue, this is one of the best pigmented palettes I’ve come across. When applied with primer, they stay on all day and night.

Here’s my rendition of the “Fully Charged” look, using Chandelier, Sin City, #selfie, Follow Me, and Millenial. Followed by some other looks I created using the Stardust palette.

This was a great evening look that I added some false lashes to for extra glam.

A daytime look I created from the Stardust palette using Millenial in the crease, Chandelier on the brow, #selfie on the lid, and Showgirl on the outer lid corner.

And another one, just because!

Holiday Parties: Time for Glitz & Glam!

You’ve attended Holiday parties every year. Maybe you’ve done the expected black, red, or green dress with a flashy statement necklace. Maybe you’ve gone sparkly with some glittered heels. Maybe you made Santa all hot and bothered with your bold red lip. But your sparkle shouldn’t be limited to your nail polish. My challenge to you for this year’s Holiday parties: Don’t limit your statement to your accessories. Whether its Christmas or New Year’s Eve…be a full-bodied, fabulous, statement in one perfect dress. What I mean is, find the perfect dress that makes you feel like a million bucks! Why not dare to be different and be the star of the show? What better way to start a New Year’s resolution than to be in a gold sequined frock when the clock strikes 12!

2014 will be your year…

Badgley Mischka: Fifth Avenue Showstopper

Retail: $395
Rent the Runway: $75

This dress is fabulous and flattering for any figure. Fabuletiquette: “Tighter is not always better.”  Yes, we all want to accent our figures, but go for the better fit, not the smaller size. At $395, its a little pricey for a dress you may only be able to wear a few times. If you are not wanting to splurge for a one-time-wear, check out RentTheRunway.com and this dress can be yours on your big night for a rental fee of only $75.

Fabuletiquette: There’s a reason why the phrase goes, “_____ is the new black.” It is classic. Timeless. NYE is a great night to take the LBD to the next level with some sparkle! Hoping to smolder at your shindig? Really go dark with a deep smokey eye and a leather jacket.

Color Blocking with Brights

My newest Fabulette obsession is neon color blocking…especially with jeans. This trend just has me psyched for the Spring/Summer seasons…I love this pairing with the striped top.

My favorite color trends right now are blushy pinks, the above bright neon coral and neon minty turquoise greens…seen perfectly paired by Ashley Tisdale…

J.Lo ROCKED these turquoise trousers on American Idol bringing a fierce Fabulette twist on the trend!

MUST get some ASAP!

Optical Illusions ROCK the Red Carpet

We all saw Kate Winslet ROCK the Stella McCartney Optical Illusion Dresses on the Red Carpet…which caused quite a buzz about the mind bending style. The black background makes the color pop and accentuates a tiny waist. This is the ideal dress to hug a woman’s curves in ALL the right places.

We’ve since seen it rocked by the likes of Lea Michele (Glee Fabulette) and Kim Kardashian (Icon of all things FAB) but none have been rocked quite like this…guess it took rocker Gwen Stefani to do it…go ahead…bask in the badass of this awesome chick.

How AMAZING is this? This Stella McCartney ensemble makes the already svelte figure of the No Doubt  front woman look even more sexy. Can’t wait to rock my own optical illusion dress.

Hot Polish Shades for Summer

This is what I’m loving right now…

Bright Shades for Summer

These bright shades of polish by Essie are perfect for Summer. I know, I know…we still have a few months to wait, but the countdown has already begun! Besides, in Florida, its always Summer! (Aren’t you jelly belly? Speaking of, I think jelly beans should be celebrated year round, not just a treat from the Easter Bunny).

These colors (Lights, Camera, Action, and Bazooka) are so hot and a must have for any Fabulette! I’m loving “Camera” by itself but I can’t wait for “Lights” and “Action” to hook up and French 🙂 I love any shade of melon or coral and if canteloupe and salmon shades got together and made a baby, it would be “Bazooka” and it would be on my toes all summer.

Maybe I’ll try this Fabulette trend…

…and rock “Action” on my ring finger. Maybe throw on a little glitter too…Every Fabulette needs a little SPARKLE.
